Day 29 (Oct 1st) - We have had our fill of museums and palaces and have decided to just enjoy our one day in
Venice.
I purchased six 12 hour
water bus passes for all of us for 96€. The water buses provide a great way to get around Venice and the smaller islands around the main island.

We took the water bus top to
Piazza San Marco to see the
St. Mark's Basilica from the outside and the
Doge's Palace. We then wandered around the small streets around the plaza. Renae really enjoyed walking around this area, however, she thinks the city should do something to prohibit the graffiti.

We then took a water bus to
Murano Island. We took a free tour at glass blowing factory where some of the girls bought some souvenirs.

We found an inexpensive snack bar located inside a commercial center for lunch. On the 2nd floor was a grocery store where I was able to purchase shampoo, water and some other snacks at a really good price.
After lunch, we relaxed by riding the water bus around the island a couple of times. The girls enjoyed shopping for
masks (which are mostly made in China).

We went back to the same snack bar for dinner because Elizabeth really liked the lasagna there. The food was ok, but for a family of 6 in Venice, the price was right.
After dinner, we rode the water bus around the island and up the grand canal for our own tour of the island. At the end of the evening (before our passes expired), 4 bus staff boarded the water bus and checked all the tickets.

I really enjoyed Venice and could have spent another day there. It was much enjoyable than I expected.
