Day 27 (Sept. 29th) – The girls took a shower in morning. Renae and I were looking over the map in the RV when the employee who directed into the campground two nights earlier came over to our RV.
He was quite perturbed that I had backed into my spot instead of pulling into it. Since we were gone from 9:30 a.m. in the morning to 9 p.m. at night the day before, I’m not sure why this was such a big deal. After I told him we were leaving soon, he told me “well for next time” (all of this was in German—I wish that I had studied more before we left).Renae didn’t want to stay at Thalkirchen campground in again. We drove to Oberminzing in the northwest side of Munich. When we got to the campground, I checked in. An older, fat man with a grey beard chain-smoking cigarettes on a motor scooter drove ahead of us to show us our spot. He seemed very irate—maybe because of all the pariers here for Oktoberfest. He pointed for me to go camping spot that was very difficult to get into. He was very specific that I should back into. While maneuvering into the spot, I brushed up against a tree and scratched the awning container.
On top of this frustration, the electrical boxes were metered and ours was broken. The fat man on the scooter came by a couple of times and told the girls (in German) that we needed to be closer to the bushes on side of our camping spot. We had 10’ of space on one side and 2’ on the other. I don’t know why he wanted us closer.
Anyways, after going up to the front desk twice, the fat man came back and guided us to another spot. Renae and I also had to go back to the front desk to get a refund for our internet connection (5€ for 10 hours)—I couldn’t get a connection.
