- Is your child up to date with his jabs?
- I'll give you a bell
- Please, mind the gap
- Lisa Newman is correct! "Jabs" are shots for immunization
- To "give someone a bell" is to "ring" someone or "call" someone on the telephone
- Not really a British-ism, this is the phrase one hears on the tube/subway before it comes to a stop. It's a warning to mind the space between the train and the platform

Does jab mean shots? I don't have an idea for the bell. Does gap mean your mouth?

Jabs does mean shots, bell is a phone call, and gap is the space between trains. There were so many other sayins as well. Elizabeth liked noting them down. Renae
