Oktoberfest = State Fair + Lederhosen

Day 19 (Sept 21) – We all needed a break from museums and palaces.

So, today we went to Oktoberfest.  We arrived around 10 a.m., and surprisingly there weren’t many people there.

Basically, Oktoberfest is the Arizona State Fair without trash, but with beer tents and lederhosen and dirndls for cowboy hats and boots.

While I’m not fond of the overpriced rides, the girls all had a blast.  We gave each of them a 15€ budget for rides and food.  However, I did pay for the older girls to go with Lizzie on the rides she wanted to go on.  The big hit with our girls was the bananas and strawberries covered in chocolate on a stick—and the big pretzels were a hit with everyone.  Before we left around 2 p.m., I had to have at least one beer at Oktoberfest.  I had a Paulaner Weizen.
